Week Three...

Cam is three and a half weeks old! Where did those three weeks go? At his two week appointment last week, he had gained a pound and grown an inch, which is pretty good. The doctor said that if babies can be back at their birth weight by two weeks that is great, so he is growing! He is still pretty little, I wonder if he will fill out nicely or just be a little baby. Avery has been pretty average as far as weight and height goes. She never has been extremely small but never big for her age. She is easy to fit and wears exactly her age in clothes. I'm sure Cam will be the same. Nursing is going better but not great, yet. Hopefully we can get to that point. He still likes to eat around the clock, but I am trying not to feed him that often so that when I do feed him, he actually is hungry and eats and gets full instead of these constant snacks. It's amazing how much more awake he is now than even last week. We are trying to get him on a good schedule; the last two nights we put both kids to bed at 8. Avery is a great sleeper, and Cam just slept his three hours, woke up and went back to bed etc. through out the night. I can't wait for him to get bigger and stay full longer. Hopefully we can stick with this. I hate putting Avery to bed and then being up with Cam until 11 or so and then putting him to bed. He loves his baths... ok, who knows if he loves his baths at three weeks, he isn't exactly kicking and laughing during them, but he doesn't cry, he just lays there in the warm water. I think he likes them. He is still the loudest baby I have encountered yet. I almost had to leave story time yesterday and church has been interesting. He grunts and groans so loudly. Even with him in his cradle at night, he keeps me up because he is so loud. Maybe he will be a really loud kid? Avery is still a great helper. I'm sure she always will be. I am finding that it's really hard to balance my time between the two of them, myself, Paul, house work etc. Avery is pretty content with things, but there are certain days when Paul gets home from work that I realize that she probably didn't get a lot of my attention during the day. I'm looking into putting her in gymnastics for the fall and she is starting at a little preschool by a lady in our ward tomorrow. If I can get her out and involved, I don't feel so bad. I better go do something productive, like wait for my new "double" stroller! I haven't been able to go on walks or go to the mall because I can't carry the car seat around, but starting tomorrow I will be a new woman!
